Jessica Alba Producing âWine & Spiritsâ Mystery Drama Based On Medium Jennifer Shaffer In Works At Fox

EXCLUSIVE: Fox is developing Wine & Spirits, a one-hour mystery drama from Jessica Albaâs production company, Lady Metalmark Entertainment. It is based on Manhattan Beach-based psychic medium Jennifer Shaffer who, in addition to her private clientele, consults with the FBI and LAPD to solve crimes.Â

Written by Rob Sudduth (Acapulco), Wine & Spirits centers on Jennifer Shepherd, a psychic living in Manhattan Beach who juggles two starkly different lives: one as a mom and divorcee and the other as a consultant solving crimes for the FBI.
Sudduth executive produces alongside Lady Metalmarkâs Alba and Tracey Nyberg and 3 Artsâ Michael Rotenberg and Oly Obst. Alba is not attached to act in the project, from Fox Entertainment Studios.
âI grew up listening to my tias tell ghost stories, so diving into a world of spirits feels right,â Sudduth said. âJen Shaffer is a force, whose candid relationship with the afterlife and deeply moving personal stories serve as an inspiration for our unique show.â
Shaffer, a sought-after L.A. intuitive medium, will serve as a producer on the project. âThis show is not just about solving mysteries, itâs about connection, healing, and reminding people theyâre not alone,â she said.
Lady Metalmark, which Alba launched in 2024 with producer Tracey Nyberg, recently sold a pitch for an R-rated female ensemble comedy to Netflix with Alba attached to star and to produce alongside Nyberg.
Alba produced and starred in the Netflix thriller Trigger Warning, which has garnered over 91 million times globally. The third season of the Roku unscripted series, Honest Renovations, which she created, executive produces and hosts with Lizzy Mathis, premiered Aug. 14. She will next be seen next in Maserati: The Brothersopposite Anthony Hopkins, Andy Garcia, and Al Pacino.
